Improving Emergency Response Technology
November 2025
BEK Communications Cooperative is proud to announce that the Napoleon Ambulance District has been awarded a $4,320 grant through the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Community Grant Program. This funding will assist with upgrading from laptops to tablets, allowing the department to transition fully to digital records, streamline reporting, and eliminate paper use.
This technology upgrade will enhance the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of the district’s emergency response operations. By reducing paperwork and improving data management, Napoleon’s first responders can focus more time and attention on what matters most, saving lives and serving the community.
The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) is a nonprofit organization working alongside NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association to sustain and enhance the quality of life in rural America. Each year, FRS partners with NTCA members, like BEK, to support community-based projects through its Community Grant Program.
These grants provide meaningful support for local initiatives that strengthen rural communities in four key areas:
- Business & Economic Development
- Education & Workforce
- Health & Well-being
- Public Service & First Responders

BEK is honored to help bring these opportunities to the region. Through partnerships like this, we continue our shared mission of building stronger, more connected rural communities, because when our local organizations thrive, our communities thrive.
