Calling All Cooperative Youth

Explore Washington D.C. This Summer

November 2025

Attention high school students across BEK’s cooperative service area—an extraordinary opportunity awaits! The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) invites you to apply for the 2026 Youth Tour, an unforgettable educational adventure taking place June 1-5, 2026 in Washington, D.C.

Since 1995, the FRS Youth Tour has introduced thousands of rural students to our nation’s capital, showing how rural broadband and telecommunications keep communities like ours connected to the rest of the world. This program offers far more than sightseeing; it gives students the chance to share their rural perspectives with lawmakers, regulators, and industry leaders shaping America’s digital future.

Here's What You’ll Experience:

  • Tour national landmarks like the U.S. Capitol, monuments, and world-class museums.
  • Learn firsthand how broadband drives innovation, education, and opportunity in rural communities.
  • Engage with policymakers and regulators, voicing the needs and concerns of rural America.
  • Connect with peers from across the country who share your background, values, and ambition.

This isn’t just a trip, it’s a leadership experience that builds confidence, knowledge, and lifelong connections. Participants return home inspired to lead and make a difference in their communities.

Don’t miss your chance to represent BEK in our nation’s capital! Explore the heart of our nation, and gain insights that will shape your future.

Apply today and get ready for an unforgettable journey to Washington, D.C.! Registration closes on April 1, 2026. Visit the FRS Youth Tour page for details and registration information.
