Archers Hit Their Mark!
Wilton Athletes Qualify for Nationals
May 2025
The Wilton Elementary and Wilton High School archery teams are hitting their mark once again! As we shared in last year’s edition of the June Beacon, both teams once again qualified for the National Archery Competition, which took place in late April in Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition this year, one individual high school archer also qualified.
This season, the Wilton Archery Team grew to an impressive 67 archers. Their efforts paid off in March at the State Tournament, where the Elementary Team brought home 3rd place in Bullseye, and the High School Team earned 3rd place in 3D. On top of that, one high school athlete achieved an outstanding individual score to qualify solo for Nationals!
But that’s not all! Wilton’s archers also had an exciting opportunity to compete in the CenterShot Champion Archery Meet, also in Salt Lake City, where they faced more than 140 teams, in addition to the more than 230 schools competing at NASP Western Nationals.
A total of 14 elementary archers and 13 high school archers, along with their families, made the trip to Utah to represent Wilton with pride. Several athletes scored in the top 5% - 10% of all competitors. Two high school students and one elementary student qualified for the next level of competition at the NASP Championships, taking place next month in Myrtle Beach, SC.
The team is working hard not just on their aim, but also through fundraising efforts to make this incredible experience possible, as the archery program is entirely self-funded.
