Message from the CEO
Your Voice. Your Cooperative. Your Annual Meeting.
March 2026
Being a member of BEK carries real responsibility.
We are a member-owned cooperative, built to serve the communities we call home. The people who receive our services are the same people who help guide its future.
Each year, the Annual Meeting is an important part of that responsibility.
When you attend and participate in the cooperative’s election process, you play an important role in shaping the direction of your cooperative. Your vote helps guide the leadership and decisions that keep BEK focused on serving members well — today and for the long term.
Our Board members are local. They are cooperative members just like you. They live and work here. They use the same services and care about the same communities. They are elected to provide thoughtful oversight and steady leadership on behalf of the membership.
What makes a cooperative work is member participation. Every member has an equal voice in choosing leadership and helping guide the future. When members stay involved, the cooperative stays strong and connected to the people it serves.
That same commitment shows up beyond the Annual Meeting. BEK supports local projects, organizations, and community initiatives throughout the year because strong communities build a strong cooperative. Many of our employees are members themselves. Our technicians live in the towns they serve. When we invest in infrastructure, grants, and local support, we are investing right back into our own communities.
A member-owned cooperative works best when its members take part. We encourage you to attend this year’s Annual Meeting, cast your vote, and continue being an active part of BEK.
Together, we keep our cooperative strong — right here at home.
