How to complete this form

To complete the application you will need:
  1. A completed application submitted digitally or printed and mailed;
  2. A copy of your high school transcript;
  3. Your ACT scores;
  4. Two (2) letters of recommendation;
  5. A head and shoulders photo (no larger than 10 MB).

2024 BEK Communications College Scholarship

Application Information

  1. Eligibility
    Scholarship applicants must be a U.S. citizen and receive BEK Fiber-based services at the time of the application. BEK Fiber services must be provided to the parents of the student applicant if the student is a dependent of the parents; or applicant must receive BEK Fiber services as an individual if they are no longer a dependent of their parents as filed in the most recent federal tax filing. In the case of a business, the owner is considered the customer. Immediate families of BEK directors and BEK employees are not eligible to participate.
  2. Scholarship
    Up to nine (9) $500 college scholarships will be awarded to 2024 graduating high school seniors for their first year as a (freshman) college student.
  3. School of Higher Learning
    Students receiving the scholarship must be enrolled in an accredited college or university working towards a bachelor’s degree, program certificate, diploma, or associate degree.
  4. Deadline
    Submitted or postmarked by March 1, 2024.
  5. Application Evaluation
    The applications are judged on grades, appearance of application, school activities, volunteer work, work experience, home activities, and creativity.
  6. Required Documentation
    Attach a copy of your high school transcript, ACT scores, and two letters of recommendation (arrange for two personal letters of recommendation, one from a high school official/teacher and one from a community member not related to the applicant), and a high-quality color head and shoulders photo of yourself (photo will NOT be returned).
  7. Scholarship Award

    Winners are determined by actual scoring, not by telephone exchange, district, or region.

    The scholarship check will be mailed to the FINANCIAL AID DEPARTMENT at the college or university of your choice.

  8. Terms
    BEK Communications reserves the right to terminate the program or change the provisions and conditions with reasonable notice at any time except that once a scholarship is awarded for a school year, it will continue through the expiration of the term.
